In the dark ages, Philippe was a young man plagued by the guilt of organized religion, cast out by zealots and left to fend for himself. Years of scraping by, desperate to survive, Philippe turned against his moral compass and turned to petty theft. Soon he realized he had a knack for lightening the burden of belongings on the citizens of the city that barely noticed he existed.
Philippe’s caught the attention of a rival thief. That thief belonged to a mysterious organizations of thieves that served as foot soldiers for the Regis Tempore – a secret society that is responsible for many of history’s pivotal moments. While the thief thought Philippe would be treated as a threat by the organization, instead they reached out to recruit Philippe. He learned to master his skills under this new order, but when called to his first real mission he was horrified as to what he had aligned himself with.
During that mission, he encountered strange people who he learned were from the future. They were like him and had abilities that set him apart from his peers. These heroes were from the future – a concept foreign to his medieval understanding, and while attempting to flee the organization that trained him in the thieves trade, he returned to that future with them.
Struggling to understand the technological advances that he could never have imagined, Philippe adapted his skills and joined Victoria, an organized agency for justice in the current world. His code name: Mouse. His more practical approach to problem solving – without advanced technology – became a unique asset to the team.
It wasn’t long before Philippe discovered the main objective of Victoria was to counter the scheming of a secret society whose mission it was to control the future through manipulating historical events! Regis Tempore!
Philippe’s secret is that he once served that society and his sense of guilt and shame surfaced thinking if his new friends found out, he would be disowned in this strange world.
