Entities are a title that for lack of a better term in Paragon Worlds are Gods.
The heirarchy of these Entities starts at the top. The God of Gods known only as, well he isn’t known. He controls and knows all that goes on in all the worlds. He is not powerless to stop it, but chooses to let the worlds grow and fall on their own. In all things are lessons. The top dog observes, is, and that’s all we see.
The most active of the high ranking Entities is Entropy. Entropy rarely appears in avatar form, but when he does he appears as an undesirable element a homeless man, hitchhiker, vagrant etc. Entropy spreads the Decay and experiments with infecting worlds and individuals, usually maliciously.
There are some minor Entities employed by Entropy known as Chaos and Order who do not have to follow the restrictions of the Barriers. Each of these agents were empowered by Entropy but they are typically on their own with their own agendas.
Chaos has the ability to manipulate and direct Decay, but he cannot create it. Order has the same ability, but also the ability to filter the Decay and create a semi-clean biproduct. Chaos likes to step on the anthill just to see where they all run, Order likes to empower select ants to better deal with the adversity.
If Chaos and Order appear in physical form they always choose a discrete appearance that fits with the world they are visiting. Never to stand out against the cultural grains. Chaos appears in an avatar much like a well dressed fast talking businessman/politician with an aura of adventure and excitement. Order prefers avatars of pious religious leaders and exudes charitable kindness.
Other minor entities are the embodiment of elements and forces of nature. These entities have less personality or motivation and very rarely appear in avatar form. Their function is more broad than superior entities like Order and Chaos. Each world is subject to the whims and purpose of these entities, and these are the figures most worshiped as supernatural denizens.
Some examples of these entities are Electricity, Nature, Water, Fire, Earth, Air etc.
